Outcome
Barclays had long relied on numerous paper-based guideline documents, which made it difficult for teams to locate the right information quickly, as many of these documents were lengthy and fragmented. The objective was to consolidate all guidance into a single, cohesive digital platform—the Workplace Design Principles & Standards website—enabling users to find any piece of information within just a few clicks.
I was responsible for the graphical design and front-end development of the website. This user-facing layer integrates with a database known as The Configurator, a system that allows users to generate tailored packs detailing requirements for various workspace elements—such as meeting rooms, desks, and other key areas—based on the size and function of an office.
This year-long project, carried out in close collaboration with the interiors team, involved attending workshops, analysing existing documentation, and consulting with key stakeholders. Hosted on the Barclays intranet, the resulting website is used globally and incorporates the organisation’s finishes and branding guidelines.
